Print

After Paris (UNESCO, 2000), Mexico (Universidad Iberoamericana, 2004), Manila (Ateneo de Manila, 2008) and Johannesburg (St Augustine College of South Africa, 2013), the Fifth World Congress and General Assembly of COMIUCAP was held in Bogotá, Colombia, at the Universidad Santo Tomas from July 4-7, 2017. The scope of the Congress was global and aimed at bringing together scholars from around the world interested in the practices of Philosophy within a Catholic context and in order to promote the collaboration among Catholic University Institutions of Philosophy on a global scale. Most of the papers were presented in Spanish, but important contributions were also made in the other languages of COMIUCAP (English, French, Portuguese). A selection of the texts presented will be published both by PAROUSIA, the new journal of COMIUCAP, and as a book. Both the Program/Schedule of the Congress and the Book of Abstracts are here available. As clearly indicated by the Poster of the Congress, the event was held as a cooperative effort of the Facultad de Filosofia de la Universidad Santo Tomás together with the schools of philosophy of both the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and the Universidad La Salle. On the last day of the Congress (july 7, 2017), COMIUCAP held its fifth General Assembly during which the President and the other members of the Governing body of the network were elected for the term 2017-2021. Here the Report of the President and Photos of the entire event. – In Memoriam: Professor Noel Sheth SJ (1943-2017).
